Sort a little collection
Try large blocks, socks or safe kitchen utensils. Sort by colour, size or use, and let your child explain their own categories.
Build something unexpected
A cardboard box can become a home, a vehicle or a stage. Follow your child’s idea and ask what they would like to add.
Find a pattern
Clap, tap, clap, tap. Repeat a movement pattern together and invite your child to make the next one.
Tell a tiny story
Choose three familiar toys. Give them a problem, an adventure and a happy ending. Your child can tell it with actions as well as words.
Notice the world
Look out of a window or take a walk with a grown-up. Name colours, listen to sounds and draw something you noticed.
